GHS Kumba Mbeng deserted on second day of school resumption

Today Tuesday September 6, 2022, some schools in the North West and South West regions have resumed classes for the new school year.

This comes after ghost towns that restricted the regions from commencing same time with other eight regions.

However, GHS Mbeng in the Kumba I subdivision, South West region remains deserted.

“A teacher who was supposed to have a 7:30 am class this morning went there and not a single body was there, not even the military who usually secure the campus,” MMI was told.

This, a source added, is despite “pressure from the principal for teachers to be in school today.”

Despite the approval of school by some separatist leaders, many continue to fear for their lives. This, is as many separatist fighters on the ground still abduct, maim and torture teachers and pupils seen in school, as well as parents sending their kids to school.

Also, attacks continue to be orchestrated on school facilities in the North West and South West regions.
