Government Asserts its Authority on the Ground in Chad’s Salamat Province

In the Salamat Province of Chad, the state aims to make its presence felt where expectations are highest.

Lieutenant General Ismat Issakha Acheikh, the Government’s Delegate General, carried out a large-scale administrative and security mission in the Haraze-Mangueigne Division, with a key stop in Mongo, the Divisional capital.

This field visit, highly symbolic and operational, sought to fully assess local realities—both administrative and security-related—and to reaffirm state authority through an effective and visible presence.

It also aimed to strengthen synergy between local administrative authorities and defense and security forces deployed across various localities.

On the administrative front, the message was clear and direct: rigor, discipline, and performance within the decentralized state services.

The Delegate General emphasized the need for a more efficient, people-centered public service, capable of meeting the challenges in Haraze-Mangueigne, particularly in its districts and cantons.

On the security front, the mission enabled a direct assessment of the situation along strategic axes and in areas deemed sensitive.

Through exchanges with forces on the ground, a strong signal of firmness—but also reassurance—was conveyed to the population, who were urged to actively cooperate with authorities to preserve peace and stability.

Through this decidedly field-oriented approach, General Ismat Issakha Acheikh is embedding a governance of proximity, based on listening, action, and accountability.

This initiative is intended as a concrete response to citizens’ concerns and a key lever for strengthening security, social cohesion, and sustainable development in Salamat Province.
