Videos of the brutal killing of civilians by alleged separatist fighters in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions have taken the internet by storm.

After days of silence, government has reacted to the actions, describing them as “odious” and “unsustainable”.

In a statement made public Thursday, August 13, 2020, Communication Minister, Rene Emmanuel Sadi made particular note of the cases of Mbah Treasure killed in Mankon in the North West and Comfort Tamazong in Muyuka in the South West.

“Government denounces separatists who try to attribute these crimes to the Defense Forces,” says Sadi.

With regards to supporters of separatist groups abroad, the Minister went on to seek support from foreign states harboring supporters of separatist groups.

This he says is in a bid to end the ongoing violence. Key separatist groups and leaders are yet to make any official reactions to the recent brutal killings.
