Henriette Thatcher’s exit creates humanitarian vacuum

People in need of health, material, financial and other forms of assistance continue flooding into the residence of Henriette Nshan Tem, popularly known as Mummy Henriette Thatcher, days after her demise in a hospital in Douala.

The death of the internationally recognized humanitarian and social media influencer has left both her immediate family and the general community in tears following the humanitarian vacuum created.

Henriette Thatcher’s last word

Tsu Dong Immaculate, kid sister of Henriette Thatcher watched her sister pass on to eternity. She recalls Thatcher’s last words, “Remember to help people in need. There is pleasure and satisfaction to put smiles on the faces of those in distress. Bye.”

Immaculate says she is ready to honour her sister’s last wish despite her deep love for teaching.
“Henriette Thatcher was born a humanitarian. Even as a pupil, she will always share with people. She converted our family home to a meeting point where people could share common meals. She grew up with that until her death,” Immaculate stated.

Thatcher practically answered and assisted people in distress. Men, women, children and internally displaced persons found answers to their problems while with Thatcher.
Besides assisting people to meet their material needs, Henriette Nshan Tem through her blog “Henriette Thatcher Lounge” educated young people against social ills while tracing paths of success for them.

A balance sheet of selflessness

Henriette Thatcher quits the world at the age of 46 but with huge humanitarian service to humankind.
The native of Menchum division in the North West Region of Cameroon provided portable water to her native village, established women’s self-empowerment groups, offered school materials to kids among others to alleviate poverty and improve the community in her little way.

“Our house has always been full of people coming to find help from Thatcher. She will prefer to give the last franc in her bag to help. Sometimes she goes out to borrow to give those in need,” Immaculate explains how impactful Thatcher lived while praying for divine strength to permit her to uphold the legacy.

As Henriette’s family sets March 25, 2021, for the removal of her mortal remains from the mortuary, needy people and Cameroonians home and abroad continue pouring in condolence messages while praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
