Hopes high as reality TV show, Biggy237 Season 2 kicks off

Contestants for the second edition of the Biggy237 reality show have spent the first day on the show.

The initiative finally kicked off under the name Biggy Studios, after last-minute delays imposed by legal action of its former manager, Cyrille Akonteh.

Biggy Studios was launched in a house entry party in Douala last night, shortly followed by the entry of housemates into the mansion where they will live together for the coming weeks.

Acknowledging a few shortcomings, many have praised the show for numerous improvements as compared to last year’s editions.

Among these, some have cited the increase in the size of the house, as well as better images and sound.

Dubbed ‘The Revolution’, rewards for this second edition, the organizers announced, have been stepped up with prizes worth 12 million FCFA for the winner. The second runner-up will be accorded 2 million FCFA worth of prizes and the third, 1 million FCFA.

Days to the start of the show, organizers assured the public their aspirations will be met, and that “… it was worth the wait.”

A rendition of the popular Big Brother TV show, Biggy237, now Biggy Studios, the show has as one of its key goals, nurturing talents and inspiring hope to young Cameroonians. It also seeks to act as a vector for enforcing unity and togetherness in the country’s entertainment landscape.
