A house collapse in Maroua’s Laïndé district (Camp Sonel) on Monday, killed a young girl and left two women seriously injured.
The tragedy, which occurred around 4 p.m., was reportedly triggered by strong winds and heavy rain.
Emergency services from the 401st Fire Company of Maroua swiftly responded to the incident, arriving at the scene to find the collapsed house.
According to the fire services, the incident resulted in the death of a young girl and the serious injury of two women.
The injured women were promptly evacuated to the emergency room of the Maroua regional hospital by firefighters, where they received urgent medical attention.
However, despite their efforts, the young girl could not be saved.
The heartbreaking outcome has left the community in shock and mourning. The body of the deceased child was entrusted to her father and the neighborhood chief for arrangements.
