The President of the National Assembly has called on the responsibility of MPs and their engagement towards enhancing government development efforts.
Speaking at the start of the November session of Parliament this Friday November 2nd, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril praised the attitude of Cameroonians during the just ended election, which he considered as democratic.
The House Speaker Castigated the utterances of men of God whom he described as disrespectful to state institutions
“Men of God have as role to preach peace, unity, national cohesion and respect of institutions not encourage chaos, instability;… not destroy” Cavaye Yeguie Djibril said.
His reaction targeted Archbishop Samuel Kleda, who had denounced several irregularities in the election.
The President elect is due to be sworn in on November 6th, though an official programme is still awaited.
The November Ordinary session will also focus on scrutinizing the 2019 State budget.
The Senatorial session for the Month of November is due to open this afternoon as from 4:00pm.
Today is the UN International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. Unesco statistics show, over 1,000 journalists have been killed in the past 12 years; on average, one death every four days. In 9 out of 10 cases the killers go unpunished.
The Committee to Protect Journalists said: “In the past decade, at least 324 journalists have been murdered worldwide and in 85% of these cases no perpetrators have been convicted.”

Members of a family are currently under medical care at the Bonassama District Hospital in Bonaberi, Douala 4 Subdivision, after a road accident on the Wouri Bridge Thursday October 1.
The father, mother and a 3 year old boy, were on a motor bike from Rond Point Deido, Douala 1 subdivsion to Bonaberi in Douala 4 subdivision, when their motor bike running on the wrong side of the road collided, with a vehicle coming from Bonaberi.
The trio sustained serious injuries, with the 3 year old child, reportedly unconscious. They were rushed to the hospital by witnesses.

A delivery of building materials have been bestow on some internally displaced persons in the South West Region of Cameroon. The outbreak of Cholera epidemic in the North and Far north regions of Cameroon is far from being eradicated, 3 months after the special cholera eradication plan launched by government. The national plan to eradicate cholera worth 1,7 billion was designed to run and eradicate the disease within three months, ( August, September and October) 2018.
With the period elapsed, new cases of cholera are still reported in the north and far north regions, with health experts questioning the effectiveness of the response plan.
Some 12,000 young Cameroonian volunteers will soon be dispatched across the national territory to enhance community development. Doctors without Borders says it has treated 2,600 victims of sexual violence in just one town since May last year.
The town is Kananga in Democractic Republic of Congo – a country where rape continues to be used as a weapon of war.
The town is in the central province of Kasai which is one of the poorest provinces in the DR Congo and in the summer of 2016, a violent ethnic conflict erupted there.
The Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed 180 lives, according to the health ministry as saying.
The ministry is reported as saying that it had recorded 285 possible cases.
South Africa’s national airline should be shut down, according to the country’s new finance minister.
Tito Mboweni said South Africa Airways (SAA) which has been losing money for years was not worth bailing out any more.

The joint CAF and FIFA security inspection team have concluded their security inspection of some hotels, stadia and other facilities to host the AFCON 2019 competition in Cameroon.
