Inhabitants of More Oku Villages Chase away Amba fighters

Inhabitants of more villages in Oku subdivision in Bui division of the North West region today poured to the streets, asking Amba fighters to leave their communities.

Residents who staged the protest of Tuesday April 5 were those of Elak, Keyon, Manchok, Kfui and Mbam.
Videos of the scene surfaced on social media showing locals marching on the streets as they called on separatist fighters to quit their localities.

This, MMI gathered, is after they imposed a lockdown. The people said, the fresh lockdown is one of many unjust actions of the Amba boys. Like in most parts of the Anglophone regions where the separatists operate, they had administered the local population with an iron fist, instituting torture and other barbaric methods.

“Today, they’ve said enough is enough… the population came out in their numbers asking how the amba boys can be fighting for them and locking them up like animals,” one resident explained.

Today’s chase comes after similar actions in other vilages. These included the population of Ibal, Ngemsiba and Kivu villages.
