The Minister of Housing and Urban Development has yelled out at the CPDM, Nde-North Section leader, for having exposed militants of the ruling party to security threats, during the march- pass celebration of the 39th anniversary of the party’s demi-God.
In a release dated November 8th, 2021, two days after the merrymaking, Minister Ketcha Celestine noted that the Cameroonian military was at the practical beck and call of the Nde-North sectional head to harness during the march, but he, however, exposed the militants to crowd tearing taxi men, jeopardizing the entire march process.
A section of the release reads “ I invite you to join us on November 6th, 2021, to ‘ MAGNIFY’ in unison, in concert with the militants of The CPDM, Nde-North and the population of the district of Bangante’, the birthday of this great ‘MESSIAH’, for Cameroon, H. E, Head of State, National President, President Paul Biya.
In recent years, the Cameroon military has been used to deprive Cameroonians of exhibiting their constitutional rights, leading to growing grievances, with the attempted suppression of the Anglophone lawyers and teachers protest in 2016, appearing to be their worst mistake in the history of Cameroon’s military.
It is worth noting that the said military is financed with resources from the National Treasury, including taxpayers’ monies, but is seemingly trained to cover the backs of specific individuals associated with the CPDM party.
