Kidnapper Meets Doom In Nkwen

One of the kidnappers who have been terrorizing the population of Menteh in Mile 4 Nkwen, Bamenda III SubDivision of the restive North West Region of Cameroon has been beaten to death by the people of that neighborhood.

Reports say the gang of three stormed the home of a resident of that area last Wednesday, December 1, 2021, and took a woman away after waiting for her husband in vain at about 7:30 pm.

They reportedly mounted the bike they came with and took off when an alarm was raised by a passer-by who saw how the woman was being forced on the bike.

He alerted other neighbors who came out their numbers armed with sticks, iron rods ready for a kill.

“They were bent on killing them because of what they have been going through in the hands of kidnappers,” Ndifor, a denizen of that quarter said.

He continued, “when they saw how the population was moving towards them, they turned there and took another direction but were intercepted by the population, one of them fired his gun but this did not scare the people, they abandoned their bike and took to their heels.”

Sources further said one of them was apprehended and beaten to death.

Before dying the young man who was a bike rider at Foncha Junction confessed that they were the ones who killed a young man just recently still in Mile 4.

We also gathered that all attempts for his life to be spared fell on deaf ears as no one was willing to listen. About six phones were collected from him.

At press time, the lady who was kidnapped is still to come to terms with what happened.

Sources close to her say she is still in shock after receiving the news that one of her kidnappers had been apprehended and killed by an angry mob.

We also gathered that the gang had been dropping notes carrying ADF on envelopes, with a stamp carrying the inscription Ministry of Defense, Republic of Cameroon.

The remaining members of the gang are at large. The inhabitants of Mile 4 say they are bent on removing them from their hiding place even if it means storming Bafut.
