Public Health Minister, Dr. Manaouda Malachie has ordered the temporal shut down of the operation room of the Koukouet Maloum District Hospital of the Noun Division, West Region of Cameroon.
The information was disclosed in a release by the MINSANTE boss, signed on September 8, 2022.
According to the release, the block will be temporarily shut following complaints by the population about, “Surgical interventions performed by unqualified personnel, the absence of PCI measures, and lack of adequate equipment in the operating room.”
“The operating theater,” according to Dr Manaouda Malachie, “is temporarily suspended for a period to upgrade technical staff and equipment.”
The shutdown will go operational for 6 months.
The Foumban district hospital during the said period, will have to receive partients slated for caesarean section.
