Kribi: Gendarmes Arrest Grandmother Of Three Kids Killed By Falling Tree

The tragic story of three children killed in Kribi, South Region by a falling tree has taken another twist with the kids’ grandmother now in detention.

According to credible reports, 61-year-old Kana Madeleine, grandmother of the children has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.

She has already spent a night at the Kribi 1 Gendarmerie Brigade amidst ongoing investigations.

It is said that the grandmother of the deceased children was responsible for setting the tree on fire, which caused the tree to fall on the children.

The trunk of the tree had been consumed by fire for over three days, and finally fell on the house at night while the children were asleep, killing them in the process.

The arrest of the 61-year-old grandmother of the children has nevertheless not augured well with the Chief of Kribi 1 area, who has suggested that the family should not be traumatized at a time they are mourning their children.
