Kribi: Teenager Commits Suicide after failing exam

The lifeless body of a 16-year-old girl has been removed from a river in Kribi, South Region with many believing that she may have committed suicide.

The teenager, whose name Mimi Mefo Info got as Simo, is a student of the Zion Technical College, in Kribi.

It is believed that Simo decided to throw herself into the Kienke River, after she realised that she had failed the CAP examination.

Professional divers jumped into the river few moments after and tried in vain to rescue the girl who had been quickly washed away by the currents.

It was only after two days of thorough underwater searches that the drowned corpse of the naive girl was retrieved from the river.

The body has now been handed over to Simo’s family, being examined by the public prosecutor and forensic doctors.
