Kumba: Meme SDO declares support for CPDM, reconciles former gov’t delegate, City Mayor-elect

The Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Division in the South West Region of Cameroon has been caught on camera singing and dancing with militants of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in his office in Kumba.

A source in Kumba says the SDO, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong held the dancing party in his office after presiding over a reconciliation meeting between Victor Ngoh Nkelle, former government delegate and George Mewanu, Kumba City Mayor. Both men are militants of the CPDM party.

An 11-second video circulating on social media shows the SDO and other top militants of the CPDM party in Meme Division dancing a song with the wordings “…CPDM are we together. .. we are one…”.

Cameroonians have questioned the neutrality of civil administrators like the SDO in party politics.

Militants of opposition political parties in Meme Division have often accused the SDO of partiality in his administration as he gives priority to militants of the CPDM party.
