Kumbo: Amba fighters abduct, torture priest for allegedly partaking in the disappearance of ‘General’ Fire

Reverend Father Sergius was abducted by separatist fighters today, September 26, 2022, in Vekovi, Bui Division of the North West Region.

In a viral video, the separatist fighters, claiming to be the ‘Unity Warriors’, could be heard accusing the priest of having a hand in the disappearance of ‘General’ Fire from the Banso Baptist Hospital in Kumbo.

“The Unity Warriors have arrested him because he had a hand in the disappearance of ‘General’ Fire from BBH,” claimed a separatist in the video.

Reverend Father Sergius could equally be spotted in the video, laying on the ground, looking pale and exhausted.

Many have decried the treatment of the prelate, and urged the separatist fighters to refrain from treating him with disrespect and release him.

The priest’s abduction comes at a time when the staff of the Banso Baptist Hospital have suffered arrests and kidnaps from both military and separatist fighters.
