Lady arrested for faking kidnap to extort husband

A lady is currently behind bars in Batouri, East region.

She was arrested for allegedly staging her own kidnap.

Shortly after she went missing, her ‘kidnappers’ demanded an 800,000 FCFA ransom from her husband.

The husband in question, a professor doled out the sum to enable her to regain her freedom.

The police, however, launched an investigation afterward which led them to the finding that the lady had been the mastermind behind the act as a means of taking money from her husband.

She is said to be behind bars awaiting judicial action.
