Landslide claims two lives in Limbe

Two young men have lost their lives in a landslide that occurred in Limbe, South West Region of Cameroon.

The tragic incident according to local reports occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 19, 2023, precisely in Mawoh quarters.

The two victims were said to be fast asleep when they were submerged by the soil downpour which had resulted from a landslide.

The landslide followed heavy rain downpours in Limbe.

Apart from landslides, some neighborhoods in Limbe have equally witnessed heavy flooding.

In viral images, houses, hospitals, and other infrastructures can be seen completely submerged in water.

The corpses were successfully retrieved after some hours of struggle.

This makes it a total of five deaths recorded today in Limbe, as an accident involving a heavy-duty truck also claimed three lives.
