Prof. Samuel Tita Fon has called for the cancellation of verdict no. 237/2020/TA-YAOUNDE of June 16, 2020 that confirmed Edith Kah Walla as the legitimate leader of the Cameroon Peoples’ Party (CPP).

In the verdict, the administrative court in Yaounde cancelled a decision taken by the Minister of Territorial Administration in April 2018 dismissing Edith Kah Walla as leader of CPP and appointing Samuel Tita Fon. To the court, Paul Atanga Nji has no legitimate right as the Minister of Territorial Administration to dismiss and appoint democratically elected leaders of a political party.

Speaking to Mimi Mefo Info on phone Monday July 6, 2020, Prof. Samuel Tita Fon says “The verdict of the case between Edith Kah Walla and and the state of Cameroon do not satisfy us the real leaders of the CPP. We deposited a document opposing that on the 25th of June 2020. We are waiting on the court to call us for judgement.”

Samuel Tita Fon failed to give an answer why he is challenging a court verdict that disfavoured the Minister of Territorial Administration.

As Samuel Tita Fon battles to see the court reverse its decision, Edith Kah Walla maintains her position as the democratically elected leader of the party.
