Some students of Government Technical High School Dschang in the West Region of Cameroon are still nursing injuries after being struck by a lightening bolt.
Reports say they had sought shelter from the rains under a tree – and were “unaware of the fact that an electric cable had passed through it.”
Sources narrate that “Lightening would later strike the tree, leaving some of the students injured.” One of them, reports say didn’t make it.
The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, authorities in Dschang have called for increased caution especially with the approaching rainy season known to be a period for several natural hazards.
