A man said to be the proprietor of Mawa Hotel was killed alongside another man.
It is not clear what happened. An eyewitness said:
“I was invited for a drink by one of the victims by name, MAWA IBRAHIM. We were drinking just around the gate but inside the compound. I left only to hear gunshots later on,” the eyewitness said adding that “on rushing back after people started gathering, I saw two bodies lying on the ground, shot by one of the officers with whom we were drinking together.”
The eyewitness said he only heard from others that few minutes after he left, an argument ensued leading to the shooting.
