Mgr. Aloysius Fundong Abanglo has been named the new Bishop of the Diocese of Mamfe. He replaces His Lordship Andrew Nkea, the present Archbishop of the Bamenda Archdiocese.


Several persons were, today, injured in a road accident in Babadjou, West Region. The accident occurred after dust raised by a heavy-duty truck blurred visibility and caused a collision of two taxis. Fortunately, no death was recorded.


Two men have been gunned down by a soldier in Bamenda, North West Region. One of them is said to be Mawa Ibrahim, a businessman, and owner of Mawa Hotel. It is uncertain if the soldier has been detained.


Residents of Bamenda III Subdivision (Nkwen and Banja) say activities of suspected separatist fighters are making life in the town unbearable for them. Days back, the said armed men abducted some shopkeepers and are demanding millions as a ransom. This follows an earlier targeting of bar owners. Armed separatists groups operating in Mankon; especially those loyal to Lucas Ayaba Cho are accused.


According to Health Minister, Dr. Manaouda Malachie, the hesitation rate against Covid-19 vaccination has drastically fallen. Despite the drop, however, the vaccination coverage remains at just 2.9 percent nationwide.


Samuel Eto’o Fils participates, today, in a gala match in Dakar Senegal with other football legends like; Didier Drogba and Yaya Touré. The game will be played at the newly constructed Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Dakar in the presence of the Heads of State of Senegal, Turkey, Liberia, and Rwanda.
