President Paul Biya has outlined urgent financial and administrative measures to address the ongoing teachers’ strike. These include the payment as from the Month of March 2022, of monthly salary complements to teachers. Teachers say they will continue to protest till the actions are implemented.




CPDM supporter and Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona, has criticized teachers for impatience amidst government’s efforts to solve their problems. He made this statement via his Facebook page as President Paul Biya ordered for immediate solutions to be provided to teachers’ concerns.



A man said to be a native of Esu, Luam Emmanuel has been found dead in his room today in Limbe, Fako division of the South West region. The deceased was discovered lifeless, a day after the Fon of Esu was brutally assassinated by alleged Fulani gunmen. It is still unclear if the man’s death is linked with that of the Fon and his wife.



A man has been arrested today in Douala after he was caught robbing a wine shop owner in the Akwa neighborhood. His accomplice escaped after a brief gunfire exchange with the anti-gang unit which was around when the robbery took place. The wine shop owner is receiving medical attention after sustaining injuries.


Web Journalist, Paul Chouta, was abducted and brutally manhandled by armed men yesterday in Yaoundé. He was taken by the unidentified armed men from Damas and to Nsimalen where he was beaten and dumped by the roadside. He is currently recovering from his injuries.


Experts have met in Yaounde to discuss new ways of eliminating malaria. Among others, they recommended stepping up the fight against street drugs, and training drug vendors on the right prescription. This was at a ceremony to launch the “Stop Malaria” Campaign. Discussions are taking place at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.




PWD of Bamenda has intensified its training ahead of Sunday’s Cameroon Cup football final against Astres FC of Douala. Sunday’s game will be the third Cameroon Cup final for the Abakwa Boys after they failed to lift the prestigious trophy in 1967 and 1979.
