Many have taken to social media to demand the release of over forty bike riders arrested en route to Oku from Bamenda. They were arrested and tagged separatist fighters. They have however maintained that they were heading to the burial of their colleagues shot dead by the forces of law and order.

Administrative authorities and human rights bodies are yet to react to the arrest and current detention of the bike riders by the Rapid Intervention Battalion. Some of them are said to have health challenges but are yet to be catered for, sources claim.

Bishops of the National Episcopal Conference have called on Cameroonians to commit the current economic situation in prayers. They were reacting to the price hikes that have left many in distress. They made the call at the ongoing 47th Plenary Assembly of their gathering in Yaounde.

Condolence messages have been pouring in for the family of Armand Mbianda, publisher of Le Soir newspaper. He passed away today In Yaounde after an illness.

The population of Njirong, a village in Ndu Sub Division, Northwest Region of Cameroon have taken their long-standing land grievances with the Ntumbaw people to the governor. This they say is because the Divisional Officer of Ndu has failed to broker the conflict and shown no signs of interest in handling the matter. The land crisis dates far back as the early 1970s and has recorded enormous loss of lives and properties.

HYSACAM sanitation workers in Bamenda, North West Region have threatened to down their tools. They have cited the lack of adequate health insurance as well as poor working conditions. Should they push through, it will be the fifth strike in 24 months.
