A six-year-old boy by name Rayane has been found after he was reportedly kidnaped from a school in Bafoussam.
The boy is said to have been kidnapped by his uncle in the city.
According to sources, Rayane was kidnaped in Bafoussam and taken to Foumbot in the Noun Division, West Region of Cameroon.
Once in Foumbot, one of the uncle’s friends presented as his accomplice in this case, contacted the mother of the child, indicating that he was in Douala and that they needed the sum of five million for the release of the child.
A complaint was later filed at the judicial police of the West region.
Following the complaint, investigation was immediately opened.
Through the investigations, it was revealed that the child had been transported to Foumban.
Elements of the public security later succeeded to lay their hands on the two men, and were able to recover the child who was later returned to his parents.
Questioned on the reasons for such act, the alleged Kidnapper indicated that he needed money to launch a commercial activity and to him, kidnapping for ransom was the best option.
Both men were arrested and placed behind bars.
