Man beaten to near death for robbing church in Kumba

A man has been beaten by an angry mob at the Pulletin ( Metta quarters) neighbourhood in kumba II Sub division, Meme division of the South West region of Cameroon.

The man, said to be in his early 30s was reportedly caught trying to flee after breaking into a Presbyterian Church in the neighborhood and getting hold of a sound system equipment.

According to FM Express Radio 91.5, “the mob retrieved the equipment from him before beating him to stupor. The burglar was abandoned to his fate after the mob realised that he had gone comatose.”

The report added: “hours later, he was discovered lying on the tarmac in front of a popular Snack-bar in the Kumba Town neighbourhood covered with his own blood.”

Latest reports from the scene indicate that the young man was picked up by an unidentified person, who took him to an unknown destination.
