A man in Boyo Division in the North West region has denied receiving the corpse of his son who was lynched to death. He reportedly prevented the corpse from being buried in his compound.

Reports say he described the body as a cursed corpse saying it had no place in his home.

The said son was beaten to death in Ntamulung, a locality in Bamenda, North West region.

He was accused of being part of a gang of three that robbed his own elder brother who deals in fuel.

The gang of three The Guardian Post reports “… Broke into the house that evening at 8:30PM.”

They harassed the wife of the fuel dealer at gunpoint, making away with the sum of 300,000FCFA. The paper quotes another source who recounts that “… As they left one of the gang members remained in the house. Then the woman of the house clung in to him and shouted for help.”

The swift intervention from neighbors resulted in the arrest of two of the suspects as the third made a way with the gun and money stolen.

The corpse of one of the victims was later rejected by the father after the irate crowd lynched them both.

He like many others is said to have expressed surprise that his son robbed his fellow brother.

The corpse was repeatedly buried at a public cemetery in Bamenda by the council.
