A man is on the run after his 17-year-old son tortured and buried his stepbrother alive. The 17-year-old, known only as Nan, carried out the act following instructions from his mother who has since been arrested.
Reports indicate that residents in the Apamisede area of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, Nigeria, came to the rescue of a young boy. The boy had been buried in a pit by his own brother, who accused him of stealing 10,000 naira.
In a viral video, an 11-year-old child can be seen desperately screaming and pleading for help while being subjected to torture and buried by an older individual. “Uncle, please! Uncle, please!” cried the young boy, his face swollen and his entire body trapped beneath the ground.
During the interrogation, the 19-year-old boy provided an explanation to the locals regarding his mistreatment of his stepbrother. He stated that he believed his stepbrother had stolen money, and this was not the first occurrence of such an incident. He mentioned that his mother had granted him the authority to discipline the young boy in whatever manner he deemed appropriate.
“He thief money. The last time he went to thief money, We dey ask am where he put the money, and I no know how much he thief oo but he said nah N1000. The last time he stole, nobody beat ham, and nobody touched’ am,” the 19-year-old boy told the locals in the viral video.
Additionally, he disclosed that their father was not present at home during the incident. However, the father in question has been untraceable ever since he was informed that the police would be involved in the case to conduct a thorough investigation.
According to the latest reports, the entire family has been expelled from the community. The ban was imposed as a result of a cleansing ritual that was conducted in the community, following orders from the Palace.
“Once the stepmother and her son finished facing the wrath of the law, we shall banish them from this land. But before we banish them, we will ensure that the family offers a sacrifice to cleanse the land,” Mr Ahmed told the News Agency of Nigeria.
