Sunday was a sad one for the population Baba II, village of leading oposition figure in Santa Sub Division of Anglophone Cameroon following a raid that caused blood to flow over the weekend.
Reports say many were shot and wounded when soldiers under the command of Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo stormed the area and opened fire indiscriminately killing one person on the spot.
Many homes were also razed and businesses looted and some destroyed by the heavily armed soldiers who descended on the population without mercy.
This is coming few days to the ‘reburial’ of former Bar President, Bar. Sama Francis whose body is to be exhumed in Yaounde and conveyed to Baba II to be laid to rest.
The recent raids on the village according to many is to instill fear on the population in order to scare them from attending the event.
Others have said the attack on Baba II was to send a signal to those having any intentions of disrupting the event to know that it will not be tolerated.
