Serge Espoire Matomba has reacted for the first time, after the proclamation of results of the October 7th presidential election in Cameroon.

“I take note of the data made public by the Constitutional Council, but remain convinced that the fight continues with the same ardor, the same intensity and the same energy. I therefore invite Cameroonians to register massively on the electoral lists from January 2nd, 2019, ….” The PURS presidential candidate said.

Hear him;

“Sons and daughters of Cameroon,

On the proclamation of the results of the of October 7, 2018, presidential election, I want to thank you for the attentive glance that you carried on the candidate, agent of the United People for the Social Renovation that I am.

I extend my gratitude to all those women and men who took their time to participate in the ballot. My sincere thanks to the representatives in the polling stations who watched over amidst the threats, intimidation and arrests during the course of the election. My eyes are also turned towards more and more militants and supporters who continue to believe in the PURS project.

The data published by the Constitutional Council do not reflect the work of 10 years; but whatever the case, they challenge us and invite us to question ourselves as political actors and as a people.
In all circumstances, the most important today is, all the satisfaction we have with the work done on the ground; all things that we can not deflect.
One of these satisfactions is the political awareness of Cameroonians.

Since 2008, we have embarked on the road to awaken the consciences of Cameroonians, so that they know that the destiny of Cameroon is in their hands. This long-term work will take the time it will take, but will eventually pay off. Today, our goal is not yet achieved, but the first victory we can congratulate is that of the revolution of consciousness.

This election, in which I took part, has had the particularity of an intense competition between nine candidates. Valorous Republicans who have each shown interest in improving the democratic game, but also and above all to call for the involvement of all Cameroonians in the management of public affairs. This now certain interest of the people vis-à-vis the administrative and state organization is a qualitative leap for improving the living conditions of citizens.

To prepare for this 2018 election, my team and I have worked to get people out of the debate; of the traditional “Biya must go”, to impose debates of ideas. This is how our approach was anglée on our company project born 4 years ago and updated 16 months ago. Today, we are proud to position ourselves as a force of proposal. Moreover, many of our ideas are easily applicable from this moment.

I take note of the data made public by the Constitutional Council, but remain convinced that the fight continues with the same ardor, the same intensity and the same energy. I therefore invite Cameroonians to register massively on the electoral lists from January 2nd, 2019, and tells them that it is time to storm the elective positions. The PURS has called for a pooling of the forces of all opposition in the framework of the campaign 300 mayors / 100 deputies, launched at the second party congress in June 2017.

Cameroonians and Cameroonians, invest the parliament, let us deploy in town halls, it is time to change the political configuration of Cameroon. 2018 is behind us, heading for 2025, stopping in 2019 during the legislative and municipal elections.”

Serge Espoire Matomba occupied the eighth position in the 2018 presidential race in Cameroon in 0.56 percent.
