The chairman of the Bole Bakundu Traditional Council in Mbonge subdivision, Meme division of the South West region, Moto Philip is said to be on the run following military accusations that he has links with separatists.
Moto is said to have been accused of sponsoring separatists activities across his native Meme. Following the development, the traditional council head is said to be on the run.
His house was reportedly ransacked and destroyed by the military that had come in search of the chairman. His relatives have condemned the antics and denied
Accusations from soldiers that he has links with the Ambazonia fighters in Bole Bakundu.
According to his relatives, there are currently no proofs to back that up, except that he is the chairman of the traditional council. “…just because he is the chairman of the traditional council, he has been accused of sponsoring the Amba boys,” a relative of Moto told Mimi Mefo Infos.
Family members of Moto opined that these claims have come as a result of false rumours being spread across the village by people of with malicious intent.
“There is a boy from the village who walks around spreading these rumours, simply because they were not on good terms even before the crisis began,” a relative insinuated.
Meanwhile , it is also reported that, the Secretary General of the Bole Bakundu Traditional Council has been in detention for three months now following similar accusations.
