The Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, has warned delegates against forwarding of files to Yaounde without his approval.

He made the declaration during a recent meeting conveyed at his office in Kumba in the South West Region of Cameroon.

He pointed out that mayors and other head of services within his area of command are also included in the ban.

According to the civil administrator, the decision is in line with the Prime ministerial circular of February 9 2007, which empowers SDOs, the right to treat files directed to Yaounde.

“We have realized that some delegates use to send data through the regional delegate, whereas the PM circular stated that they are to be sending letters through the SDO and receiving letters coming from ministers through the same channel,” Ntou’ou Ndong stated.

He further reiterated that the implementation of the ministerial circular will facilitate the handling of pending issues, especially the redeployment of state personnel.

The SDO equally stressed that all public offices must be open from Mondays to Fridays, else they will have to face the law.

According to Mabuno, Divisional delegate for secondary education in Meme, “formally we have been running into the error of directing our hierarchy, without passing through the SDO who is the representative of the state”.
