Security forces in Bachuo-ntai in the South West region are said to have killed a ‘former Ambazonia fighter’ living in the village. The supposed ex fighter, Ferdinand Takang who also had a speech impairment villagers say joined and fought with the restoration forces in Mamfe.
He however decided to drop his arms and embrace normal life when he learned of presidential pardon.
Ferdinand eyewitnesses say was eventually shot by military men that came into the village. The military a source says came in a white hilux “and when he saw them, he pleaded using sign language, explaining that he was not a fighter but one of them pulled his gun and shot him”.
Ferdinand’s murder is one of others recorded following the dropping of arms by Ambazonia fighters.
