MitaCCUL management reacts to Friday’s robbery

Following the robbery at the Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union Head office at Sonac Street in Bamenda with CCTV video footage making rounds on social media, the management of the financial institution has issued an official statement.

Some say it was done by separatist fighters while some say it’s the military. Contrary to already made up allegations of who carried out the robbery, the management has been careful not to point accusing fingers as they say the gunmen were unidentified.

MitaCCUL equally used the opportunity to announce their neutrality in the on-going crisis in the two Anglophone regions: “this incident happens at a time when MitaCCUL Management and its members have continued to observe neutrality during this crisis. We thank God that with all the security measures already in place, no human casualty was recorded and material loss was greatly mitigated contrary to unverified speculations especially on social media” it was said in the communiqué.

The Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union management has assured the public that the robbery incident at the Head Office in Bamenda is not going to be a hindrance to their activities as work continue as always.
