Murdered UN Aid Worker In Cameroon Buried

The mortal remains of Ngwayi Pascal, a humanitarian Aid field agent of COMINSUD has been laid to rest in the Nkambe Christ The King Catholic Church cemetery.

According to the UN, the humanitarian Aid field agent was in Wat village Nkambe Central subdivision of Donga Mantung Division for Data collection on the needs of the displaced and those affected by this crises in this area, where he got kidnapped by Amba Fighters on November 30th.

A statement from the UN humanitarian coordinator said Ngwayi was kidnapped and later killed on December 1st 2019.

During the funeral Mass at Christ The King Catholic Church Nkambe Rev. Father Andrew vehemently condemned the killing and others in the North West and South West regions. The man of God centered his message on the sacredness of human life. “No matter the war situation, no man has the right to take away another man’s life. In war, when you identify your enemy, what you do is try to incapacitate him” Rev Andrew said.

The voice of the Roman Catholic Church priest was supported by the UN Head of Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs who said such Killing is against human rights and is a crime against Humanity.

Family members say Ngwayi Pascal was not just a Humanitarian Aid field agent but was a good Christian, very honest, simple, generous and dynamic person who’s sudden death has left thousand of people in deep shock.

His colleagues at COMINSUD testify that the the gap Ngwayi Pascal left will not be easy filled. The COMISUD team coordinator on his part says the deceased will be remembered as one who died saving humanity.
