At least, two persons are reported to have been killed by a swarm of mysterious bees in the locality of Edea, Littoral region of the country.

The deceased were on disputed land when the incident occurred. Amongst those killed is one Boris Sidouane Mponé.

He will be buried next weekend in Bamougoum, his village of origin. The 28-year-old was killed in the tragic incident on Saturday March 19.

He was a teacher in a Technical High School in the Bamboutos division. He also worked as a topographer.

It is within the framework of his activity as a topographer that he met his untimely death.

Asked by one Parfait Mouné to carry out topographic surveys on a plot of land located in Kendeck in the Sanaga-Maritime division, Boris Sidouane Mponé went exercising his duty as requested.

Few minutes after displaying his equipment to accomplish the work for which he had been contacted, he and the supposed owner of the land were attacked by an colonyof bees.

Distraught after suffering savage bites from the suspicious insects, the two people will collapse and give up the ghost instantly.

Their corpses have since been preserved in a mortuary pending burial arrangements.
