Fifteen boys popular know as “Microbes” have been taken to the New Bell Central Prison in Douala. They were arrested at Bepanda, a precinct in Douala 5 Subdivision. The boys stormed a hotel destroying property and equally attacked customers in the process. Governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboa says government will not spare any agent of insecurity in the city.

The Popular Action Party, PAP is the latest to condemn the recent abduction of traditional rulers in the Anglophone regions of the country. In a release, the party’s national president, Njang Denis says “traditional institutions should not be targets for settling selfish or egoistic political scores.”

HRH Viyouf Nelson Sheteh, Fon of Kedjom Ketinguh (Small Babanki) in the restive North West region of Cameroon has spent a second day in captivity. He was abducted by suspected separatist fighters in Bamenda and has not been seen since then. Villagers have since made several calls for the release of their Fon.

Malomba Esseme equally visited the bereaved population. They appreciated the safe return of the chiefs of Miles 15 and 16.

Small and Medium Size Enterprises are set to benefit from a 25 Billion FCFA loan to enable them cushion the adverse economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the ministry of finance and a financial institution, Societe Generale Cameroun today in Yaounde.


How effective has Elections Cameroon -ELECAM been in the organization of elections in Cameroon? The question has varied answers in Cameroon. News of the arrest and charging in Uganda of two Nigerian singers – Omah Lay and Tems – is being shared widely on social media with the hashtags #FreeTems and #FreeOmahLay. Fellow musician Burna Boy is among those who’ve tweeted demanding that the pair be released.

Heads of states from Benin, Togo and the Ghana watched as Ivory Coast’s President Alassane Ouattara took the oath of office on Monday for the third time, in the midst of a political crisis. Last month, he won a controversial third term in office in an election boycotted by the opposition. He addressed the political situation in his speech, announcing that he was instructing the prime minister to organise discussions with political parties before legislative elections due early next year.

Many Algerians on social media have welcomed seeing President Abdelamdjid Tebboune on screen, in what is his first appearance in almost two months after contracting coronavirus and being treated in Germany. President Tebboune looked pale and gaunt in the clip that went out on his Twitter and Algerian state TV, yet promised to return to the country in a “few weeks”:

The Nigerian army says close to 30 generals have tested positive for coronavirus after they attended a military conference. Testing was ordered when a major-general died of Covid-19 days after he fell ill at the gathering in Abuja. The conference has been suspended.
