1 The archbishop of Yaounde archdiocese, His Grace Jean mbarga has added his voice to back to school call, for schools to resume in North West and South west regions.
Jean mbarga who was speaking during today’s assumption day, prayed for the peace of virgin Mary to dwell on all kids returning to school for the 2019/2020 school year in the restive regions and other parts of Cameroon.

2 Electricity supply company in Cameroon has been given one week to provide electricity in the entire political capital Yaounde. The Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloudou Esomba said, new equipment have been purchased and engineers will work round the clock to install them. Meanwhile, the time table of rationing electricity is still ongoing. A fire incident at Melen sub station on the 7th of August damaged several electrical installations.

3 A gang of nine members specialised in the theft of commercial motorcycles and other electronic gadgets has been dismantled in Maroua Far North region of Cameroon. The bandits are aged between 18 and 47. Police at the Maroua central police station say the network of bandits has other gangs in Chad and Central African Republic. Four commercial motorcycles, TV sets and other items have also been recovered.

4 Over fifty displaced families in Babessi Ngokentunja Division in the North West of Cameroon remain in a deplorable situation after ravaging floods. The traditional ruler of Babessi has launched a call for well wishers to assist the families. Some victims regret that government has done nothing to assist them. This is the third flood case in Babessi after that of 2012.

5 Cameroon’s popular makossa musician called Mama Ngea or Ngea La Route needs 10 million francs for intensive medical care in Morocco. In her Bonadale residence, Douala four, the musician complain of several health complications with no adequate finances. Her recent pictures which went viral on social media have left fans and Cameroonians in shock.

6 The post of the Senior Divisional Officer of Haut Plateau and Menoua Divisions in the West region of Cameroon have been vacant for over six months. After the death of the Senior Divisional Officers of Haut Plateau and the promotion of that of Menoua, their offices remained lock. This has been affecting public service users wishing to have their signed by the said SDOs.

7 One of Cameroon’s veteran journalist Jean Baptiste Sipa funeral began today August 15, 2019. His body was removed from the military hospital mortuary in Douala this Thursday in the presence of journalists, civil society activists politicians and other mourners. Jean Baptiste Sipa will be buried in his native Bayangam village in the west region at the weekend.

8 The Family of Nkengfuah Stanislus Fonge in TOLE South West is worried about his whereabouts. The mentally unstable Fonge left the family house Tuesday August 6, 2019 and has not return till date.
The restless family members say they have been to the Buea police station in search of him to no avail.

9 Hon Emilia Lifaka, CPDM Member of parliament for Fako and vice speaker of the National Assembly has qualified those campaigning for school boycott in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon as devils. The MP was speaking in Limbe during the launch of a back-to-School campaign in Fako Division.
The event saw the distribution of some didactic materials by the politician to pupils and students in Fako.

10 Nursery and Primary education operated at 50% within Fako Division, during the 2018/2019 academic year. The statistics were revealed by the Fako Divisional delegates of Basic Education, during the back-to-school campaign launch in Limbe today.

11 The crisis within the Eglise Evengelique Du Cameroon is far from being over.
In a recent decision, the Douala Bonanjo Court of First instance created a temporal team to head the church which has been rocked by a crisis since an elective general synod Assembly held in Ngaoundere on April 23th, 2017.
Reacting to the court decision, the opposing camps, led by Rev Samuel Henje Toya and another lead by Pastor Richard Priso Moungolé said the decision of the Court is a non event.
They are mobilising Christians from all the regions of the church to denounce what they qualify as interference in church activities by the court.

12 The National Syndicate of drivers in Cameroon has announced an indefinite strike action, beginning August 21st 2019.
The National exco in a release say they are staging the strike action will only halt after their grievances are addressed by the government of Cameroon.
