The beneficiaries, 150 boys and 160 girls, needy Primary and Secondary School children, mostly orphans, physically challenged and internally displaced children in Bamenda have received didactic materials thanks to the kind gesture of Ndichia Foundation. This was Saturday August 29 2026.The children from Ntankah, Ntamulung and Mulang and surrounding areas received didactic materials comprising exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, sharpeners and school bags that will help prepare them for the start of the school year.
The event that took place at St Edmund’s Catholic Church Mulang saw Ndichia Foundation team of volunteers led by Stella Ndingen Ndifor giving hope to disillusioned kids whose hope of going back to school has become a reality thanks to the annual donations by the Ndichia Foundation.
Speaking at the donation event, Stella Ndingen Ndifor, Head of Ndichia Foundation Team of Volunteers, appreciated the donors and partners for their love and generosity to children who can now look forward to a new academic year with hope. In an interactive session, she educated the children on the forms of gender based violence, manifestations and how the children can be able to identify these predominant vices once initiated. The children were able to know and master the names of their various private parts, how to mention them and who to report all forms of sexual exploitation attempts on them and the corresponding predators.
On behalf of the entire foundation, Stella Ndingen Ndifor invited the children to study hard and commit themselves to becoming future leaders of tomorrow. She urged them to implement and follow the values of Ndichia Foundation: respect, honesty, understanding, integrity, ethical conduct, selflessness, accountability and independence.
According to Mezong Dorine a 20-year-old upper sixth Student in the coming school year at GBHS Bamenda, the gift of didactic materials is one step towards her future success and becoming a better person tomorrow.
“I don’t know if I could have been able to come this far in school. Every year I’m sure that I will have books and what to write with in school because of the generosity of this foundation. This is my last year in high school and I hope I will be able to go to the university” she said.
Sontame Caris Bella, another beneficiary appreciated the donation by Ndichia Foundation saying it will help her start school with confidence. Ngwayong vira, a mother of two kids who benefited from the donation described the foundation as a comforter of widows and IDPS.” I don’t know what I could have done with the two kids. Buying their books and writing materials this year will not be a problem. I’m so grateful” Ngwayong said.
The decade long ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon has made life harder for families. Some have been displaced, some abandoned without parents and others forced to now live with a one form of disability. As the struggle to keep children in school continues, initiatives like that of Ndichia Foundation have continued to wipe away tears from the eyes of most families and kids in Bamenda.
NDICHIA FOUNDATION
Ndichia Foundation, a local based organisation named after the late Bobe Primus Nkuo Ndichia, a philanthropist in education of children, the Foundation seeks to promote holistic education to children who have never been to school and also to school drop outs or victims of the Anglophone crisis. Basic skills such as reading, writing will ensure a decent life for children who have been orphaned as a result of the ongoing crisis. Children who grow up without attending school are at risk of becoming a “lost generation”. Education is very important in the North West Region of Cameroon that has been affected by violence, conflict and instability. Access to fees, didactic materials to orphans and displaced children in the North West Region of Cameroon, will reduce conflict, restore stability and support reconstruction.
Ndichia Foundation offers the possibility for hundreds of children to enrol into primary/secondary school. This action will give much needed psycho-social support to victims of the crises, draw public attention to the need for greater specialized support to the school system, inspire a positive change in attitude towards education. Ndichia Foundation empowers children through education and the main focus of the Foundation is to break the yoke of poverty and encourage young people to indulge in learning. The Foundation has taken as a duty to give assistance and make the needy ready for school each time its back to school in the region for the past five years.
