Some parliamentarians were absent at the ordinary Parliamentary session today at the National Assembly. They pointed the need to stay away from populated environments and reduce chances of contracting the coronavirus. They regret that the speaker of the National Assembly convened the session in total violation of a Prime ministerial order prohibiting the gathering of people of more than 50.
Cameroon Minister of public health has frowned at the Cameroonian public for not taking seriously coronaviru preventive measures as prescribed by the Prime Minister. In a tweet today, Dr. Manaouda Malachie appealed to the consciousness of Cameroonians to think about their health and those of their loved ones.
Respecting a Prime ministerial decision to close drinking spots at 6 PM, in Douala owners of bars say the decision has far reaching effects though necessary for the health of Cameroonians . In some neighbourhoods, security forces were forced to chase people away to enforce the decision.

Cameroonians are stuck in a Kenyan Airport for four days now. This was after Cameroon authorities sealed all borders as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus that has witnesses a significant increase in the past days. The Cameroon government is yet to comment on the situation of it’s stranded citizens.

Senator Nfon Victor Mukete absent at the opening plenary session of the Senate today. The eldest Senator in Cameroon was conspicuously absent. Reasons of his absence remain unknown. The law maker and Paramount leader of the Bafaw community has never been absent in an opening session.

Uneasy calm reigns in Nkoulouloun in the Douala II subdivision following the murder of a businessman by bandits. Traders, friends and colleagues of the deceased stormed the neighbourhood against youths, whom they accuse of being responsible for the assassination of one of theirs. A tensed confrontation between two camps was contained by riot police, which used tear gas.

Cameroon’s Multy Billionaire Fotso Victor is dead. He died this afternoon in Paris, France at 94 after an illness.
The Billionaire was Mayor of Bandjoun in the West region of Cameroon and owner of several factories and enterprises in Cameroon and the Sub-region.

The fire has consumed an apartment house at the mile 2 new layout in Limbe Fako Division of the South West region.
Local sources say efforts from locals to remove the occupants’ properties were all fruitless as almost everything got consumed by the flames. Unconfirmed sources say the incident was caused by a 5-year-old child who set up one of their mattresses on fire.
We are told the parents were not at home when it happened.
They blame the fire fighting unit for failing to respond positively to their call
