The Cameroon Movement of Angry Blind and Visually Impaired says it will organise a hunger strike in the days ahead. The strike, it says, is meant to draw government’s attention to their plight as all other means to do so have been futile. The challenges, they say, include humiliating living conditions and marginalisation.

The National Communication Council is facing backlash on social media after slamming sanctions on Equinoxe TV General Manager, Severin Tchounkeu and Editor, Cedric Noufele. The NCC slammed sanctions on them today, weeks after a threat on the media house from government. The sanction adds to multiple government actions aimed at gagging the press for critical reporting.

At least three persons have been confirmed dead in an accident along the Tiko-Douala highway. Witnesses say they lost their lives as a motorbike collided with a car. The exact casualties are yet to be known.

Over 150,000 persons in Mabanda, Douala will be rendered homeless. The Minister of State Property, Survey and Land Tenure, Henri Eyebe Ayissi has announced that the area is to be used for construction of sports facilities. Residents have decried the move, and are calling on President Paul Biya to intervene.

A student in Government Secondary School Nkol Eton in Yaounde has been dismissed. This is after a video of her fighting a discipline mistress on campus went viral. She was dismissed during a disciplinary council session.

Cameroon will face Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar come November 2022. The draws were done in a ceremony today in Doha, Qatar, allocating groups to the qualified teams.

Many have taken to social media to share their thoughts on Cameroon’s World Cup final group. While some have expressed oltinis8, others say Brazil remains an obstacle in Cameroon’s path. Both sides last met at the 2014 World Cup where Brazil thrashed Cameroon 4-1.
