An economic operator whose name MMI got only as Steve has been confirmed dead in Douala after being allegedly poisoned. It is reported that he drank a drink offered to him in Bonamoussadi that had already been poisoned by an anonymous person. Security forces are said to have handed the corpse to medics for an autopsy.

Secondary School Teachers across Cameroon have intensified their strike as they seek for better work conditions. Teachers have warned that they would not relent their efforts until their demands are met.



The Institute of Economics and Peace, IEP has ranked Cameroon as 11th country in the world most affected by terrorism. In 2021 alone, Cameroon experienced 37 attacks by the Boko Haram terrorists and over 58 deaths. Cameroon was ranked 5th in Africa.



Reports say FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o Fils and New Indomitable Lions head Coach, Rigobert Song have embarked on a mission to convince former Indomitable player Joel Matip to rejoin the national team. The player last played for the Lions at the 2014 world cup in Brazil. He vowed never to return to the team after being mistreated by then coach Volké Finke.



Cameroon is currently witnessing a deficit in palm oil production of 160 thousand tons. Citing the figure, state media attributed it to the armed conflict in the South West and North West regions. Many fear these figures would worsen the already significant price hikes witnessed in the past weeks.



The March session of parliament has been convened. This is the content of separate bureau orders signed today by the President of the Senate , Marchel Niat Njifenji and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Cavaye Yeguie Djibril. It remains uncertain if the Anglophone crisis would be tabled before discussion. Meanwhile this session is mostly dedicated to the election of bureaus in both houses of parliament.


Female staff of the University of Buea have been taking part in a series of activities to mark the 2022 International Women’s Day. They have, in the last couple of days indulged in human investment, cleaning and today, a football game. They will commemorate the Women’s Day next Tuesday like their peers across the globe.



A mobility week organised by the Yaounde City Council came to a close today. The council and its partners used the four-day event to encourage environmentally friendly activities as well as healthy intercity movement. Among key target audiences were transporters, pedestrians and students.
