Cameroonian refugees seeking refuge from the Anglophone crisis may soon be granted a protection status by the United States of America. The decision was announced by the country’s Homeland Security Secretary who added that the US recognise the arms conflict and the accompanying humanitarian consequences on the population. This comes five years after the crisis escalated into a full blown war.

A man died today in Tuboro, Far North Region. He was killed by unidentified assailants under the watchful eyes of his children. His wife was later kidnapped by the men and taken to an undisclosed location. The reason for this is yet to be known.
At least 4 young persons have reportedly died in Batouri, in the East Region of Cameroon. Sources say they were covered by debris which fell on them as they tried to steal gravel.
Some mourners today cheated death as they got involved in a car accident in Bassamba. They left Yaounde for the burial of a deceased lady, when their car tumbled in an attempt to dodge another oncoming vehicle. No life was lost.
