Ngaoundere: Man arrested for kidnap, murder of 7-year-old

A man has been apprehended by elements of the Meiganga Gendarmerie, for kidnapping and murdering a 7-year-old boy in Ngaoundere.

The man said to be in his early 20s was nabbed in Tibati on July 31, 2022, in the Adamawa Region.

According to the National Gendarmerie, he “… kidnapped a seven-year-old boy in Sabongari, a neighborhood of Meiganga, chief town of the Mbere Division in the Adamaoua Region, on 12 July 2022.”

He reportedly killed the boy on July 13, a day after abducting the latter. Meanwhile, he continued demanding the sum of 500, 000 FCFA from the family for the release of the young boy.

His plans were however thwarted as he was nabbed by the forces of law and order before the ransom could be handed to him.
