Three kids die of alleged food poisoning in Douala

Three children have lost their lives after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance in Bonambappe, Douala in the Littoral Region.

The children said to hail from the same family were aged 11, 9, and 3 respectively.

According to a neighbor, the children lastly consumed “bobolo” and groundnut prepared by their mother.

“The Doctor asked the younger sister of the woman what the baby had consumed. From what she told us they consumed bobolo and groundnuts” a neighbor revealed.

According to reports, the neighbors noticed the woman being rushed to the hospital when they later heard shouts from the husband. When they arrived at the scene, the children were already convulsing.

The youngest child was immediately rushed to the hospital but gave up the ghost upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the two other kids were rushed to the l’aquintinie hospital where they equally gave up the ghost upon arrival.

“We the neighbors are really touched because we gave all we had to save the life of the kids, especially the younger one who died in my hands,” a neighbor said.

According to several social media platforms, the woman attempted to poison her husband when the sad incident occurred, a claim MMI cannot confirm.

The woman who equally consumed the poisonous substance is currently in a state of coma.

“We want God to revive mama so that mama should come up and testify, ” the driver of the father of the deceased kids lamented.
