Dozens of mourners were stranded on Saturday as the travel agencies they had booked to transport them to the burial ground of Ni John Fru Ndi in Baba 2 village in Santa did not show up. The agencies were unable to operate due to a fire incident which broke out at Moghamo Traveling Agency in Bamenda yesterday.
The fire destroyed several vehicles belonging to the agency, including buses and trucks. As a result, the agency was unable to provide transportation to the mourners.
Many of the mourners are forced to use motorbikes to reach the burial ground. Others are forced to walk for several hours.
The fire incident has caused widespread inconvenience for the mourners. It has also highlighted the need for better transportation services in the region.
“We were very disappointed when we found out that the travel agencies were not going to be able to transport us,” said one mourner. “We have to walk for to get to the burial ground and bikes are not even enough.”
