Some commercial motorcycle riders in Cameroon North West region have criticised the minister of territorial administration for associating them with the atrocities committed by ambazonia boys and the military in the region.

On the basis of anonymity, one of them tells Mimi Mefo Info ” even when we have identification gadgets and papers, security men keep harassing us on the daily bases. I don’t know if they are not trained to identify criminals? “.

In a crucial security meeting on Friday March 13th in Bamenda, the minister of territorial administration set the 17th of March 2020 as deadline for all commercial motorcycle riders to have all their identification documents. Failure to do so, Paul Atanga Nji warned, they will face the heavy hand of the law.

To Paul Atanga Nji, the security measure is to ensure a hitch free parliamentary election rerun in the North West region of Cameroon on the 22nd of March.

The region has been a scene of terror with separatist fighters and the military seen as the main vectors of insecurity.
