Adolf Lele L’Afrique Tchoffo Deben, Governor of the North West Region of Cameroon has visited the Bamenda grandstand, Fru Ndi’s residences in Ntarinkon and Baba ll to assess the level of preparedness for the funeral of late opposition leader Ni John Fru Ndi.
The aforementioned has been given a special facelift with human nature seeming born again to ensure a befitting burial for a man who championed the return of multi-party politics in Cameroon.

Bamenda grandstand ready for Fru Ndi’s funeral

At the head of a high-level delegation, the governor stopped at Bamenda grandstand commercial, the Ntarinkon residence of the late statesman and later his native Baba II village where he will be interred.
From pictures obtained by MMI, all appear to be set to welcome the remains of the one-time firebrand opposition Social Democratic Front, SDF, party.
President Paul Biya had on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, signed a decree according to Late Fru Ndi a state burial.
Renovation works are being taken care of by the military engineering corps.
Security has been heightened ahead of the funeral.

His remains according to a funeral program will be removed from the Yaounde general hospital mortuary this Thursday, July 27, at 4 pm.
An ecumenical service follows from 6 pm at the Yaounde Multipurpose sports complex.
His body would leave for Bamenda on Friday, July 28 at 5 am.
The convoy carrying the corps will make stopovers in Makenene, Baffoussam, and Mbouda to permit Cameroonians in those towns to pay their last respect to a leader who forcefully opened the door to democracy in Cameroon.
Meanwhile, the SDF party has announced a rally at the Bamenda commercial avenue grandstand followed by a church service at PC Musang where he worshipped.
An all-night vigil takes place at his Ntarinkon residence thereafter.
On Saturday, July 29, he will be taken to his native Baba II village where he will be buried at noon after a funeral service.
