The North West Regional Assembly has announced plans to recruit over 90 experts and administrators before June. The move officials said, is intended to improve grassroots development in the region. This plan was announced Friday, April 1st during an extraordinary session of the Regional Assembly in Bamenda.
The persons to be recruited will be experts in education, development, transport, and peacebuilding. The recruitments are in line with the organizational chart of the institution.
According to the Secretary General of the assembly Peter Yerima, acquiring school supplies and equipment, promoting small and medium-sized enterprises, inter urban public transport, rehabilitation and maintaining regional and divisional roads is among their priority.
He equally disclosed that the structure has increased its budget to fund the additional staff to be recruited.
“Our budget has moved from 3.5 billion FCFA to about 4.3 billion FCFA and the personnel charges is about 221 million FCFA, training about 105 million and in all, we have about 221 million FCFA that will be spent on personnel”, Peter Yerima said.
Before the extraordinary session attended by Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Minister Joseph Le, the North West Regional Assembly visited a new site in Bamenda I for the construction of a household gas plant.
