The Nwa Council in the Donga Mantung division has worked out a development plan that will see the electrification of one of the subdivisions in the North West region that has never had electricity supply in its history.
The project which consists of installing solar energy panels and the gradual rehabilitation of roads in the council area is evaluated to cost 85 millions FCFA.
The population of Nwa has never had electricity supply and travelling to Nwa is nightmarish.
It is because of these that the mayor of Nwa Council, Menyong Lawrence started a gradual process of electrifying and dis-enclaving the council area.
“We have street lamps being installed. The project is ongoing and by the end of this, our people will come out of darkness”
“The major problem of Nwa has always been our roads. So we have decided to tackle one of the major access roads into Nwa from Sabongarri to Nwa”, the mayor said.
Recently, during one of their council session, the mayor called on the councillors to work towards guaranteeing the smooth start of the academic year in the subdivision that has had its own fair share of the crisis.
Nwa subdivision, created in 1963, shares boundary with the Adamawa region and borders with Nigeria.
