Beaufort County, South Carolina USA – A tragic incident has shaken the Oyotunji African Village community in Beaufort County, as their respected monarch, Oba Adejuyigbe Adefunmi II, was tragically stabbed by his own sister.
Officials have confirmed that a dispute between the 47-year-old monarch and his 53-year-old sibling, Akiba Kasale Meredith, turned into a violent altercation. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in the village situated on Bryant Lane.
The injured king was rushed to a nearby hospital by emergency responders, but unfortunately, he did not survive his wounds. After the stabbing incident, Meredith quickly escaped on foot but was soon caught by law enforcement. She is facing charges of murder and is currently being held at the Beaufort County Detention Centre.
An investigation is currently underway by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office into the details surrounding the tragic stabbing incident.
